Below is an overview of frequently asked questions regarding our updated verification policy.
Why are you introducing these checks?
In response to developments in the market and discussions with relevant stakeholders, we think it's necessary to adjust our verification policy. As a platform, we believe it is important to operate carefully and to take appropriate measures to support compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Why are you doing this now?
The market and the regulatory framework are continuously evolving. We also engage extensively with relevant stakeholders. Based on this, we feel compelled to adjust our policy and ensure that our platform remains future-proof.
Do I need to verify myself immediately?
No.
The new verification requirement applies:
- To new advertisers as of 1 April 2026
- To existing advertisers on a phased basis, also starting from 1 April 2026
You will receive a personal notification in due time when it is your turn to complete the verification.
I want to verify myself immediately. Is that possible?
No.
You will receive a personal notification in due time when it is your turn to complete the verification.
I am already verified. Does this also apply to me?
Yes.
Existing advertisers who were previously verified will be verified again as part of the new policy. This applies to everyone who falls under the new conditions.
Who does this apply to?
This additional verification applies to independent advertisers who offer physical services via our platform.
What does the identity check involve exactly, and which documents are required?
Your identity document will be verified via an ID verification service. Your date of birth and nationality will be read from the document and transmitted to us. The document is read on your own device and is not stored in our systems. Only your identity document is required for this verification.
Do you store my identity document?
No. The identity document is not stored and does not leave your device. We only record the data necessary to register the verification.
Why is my nationality being checked?
Nationality may be relevant in assessing whether someone is entitled to work in the Netherlands. This forms part of the compliance check with applicable regulations.
Do I need to prove that I am allowed to work in the Netherlands?
Advertisers who offer physical sexual services must be able to demonstrate that they are entitled to work in the Netherlands. Where applicable, additional proof may be requested.
Will this data be shared with the authorities?
We do not share identity documents with government authorities. We are also unable to do so because we do not store these documents. Data is processed solely for the purpose of the verification process and in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.
Is my information secure?
Yes. The verification is carried out via a specialised service and complies with applicable security standards. Your date of birth and nationality are read and transmitted to us.
The document is read on your own device and is not stored in our systems. Only your identity document is required for this verification.
Can you provide an example of what is required?
For identity verification, a valid passport or national identity card is required. If additional verification of the right to work is necessary, you may be asked to provide a document demonstrating that you are permitted to work in the Netherlands (for example, a valid residence permit or work permit).
Whether someone may work without an additional permit depends on the applicable legislation.
For general information on when a foreign worker is allowed to work in the Netherlands, we refer you to the official information provided by the Dutch Government:

What does “entitled to work in the Netherlands” mean?
This means that, under applicable Dutch legislation, you are permitted to perform work in the Netherlands. We do not assess individual residence or employment law situations via support. For information on when a foreign worker is allowed to work in the Netherlands, please refer to the official information provided by the Dutch Government:
If you are unsure about your personal situation, we recommend contacting the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) or a legal advisor.
I am an EU citizen. Does this also apply to me?
The identity verification applies to all advertisers who fall under this policy. For EU citizens, a valid EU passport or national identity card is generally sufficient for successful verification.
Do I need to submit my BSN, address, or Chamber of Commerce (KvK) registration?
No.
We do not request your BSN or address details as a standard part of this process. Registration with the Chamber of Commerce (KvK) is also not an automatic requirement from our platform. The verification concerns identity and – where relevant – the right to work.
Does this mean I am no longer allowed to work if I do not have European documents?
We only assess whether an advertiser is entitled to work in accordance with applicable regulations. We cannot provide individual rulings on specific situations. For information about your personal possibilities to work in the Netherlands, please refer to the official authorities.
Will my year of birth or age be publicly visible?
No.
The identity check is solely intended for verification purposes and does not automatically result in the publication of your date of birth on your profile.
What happens if I do not cooperate?
If the required verification is not completed in time, your advertisement(s) will be temporarily paused until the verification has been completed.
When will this take effect?
- New advertisers: from 1 April 2026
- Existing advertisers: phased implementation from 1 April 2026
